Sonnax hydraulic line pressure booster kits contain stronger pressure regulator springs and large ratio boost valves designed to work together to provide progressive pressure increases as driving conditions become more demanding.
Our pressure regulator springs are approximately 10% stronger than OE and more conservative in impact than other aftermarket kit springs. Large ratio boost valves provide higher pressure incrementally and when it is needed the most. The combination of these springs and valves in a Sonnax kit gives you the best of both worlds: a modest pressure increase at the low end, with a high-end pressure that is equal to or greater than that of other aftermarket kit springs.

The intermediate servo bore becomes scored from repeated cycling. The spring side of the piston has line pressure present in R, N, D. Excess leakage at the servo piston results in low line pressure and delayed engagements. During forward speeds, oil loss affects shift quality and reduces clutch life. To salvage cases install Sonnax intermediate servo sleeve kit 35709-01K.
- Kit contains an aluminum sleeve and a replacement piston with a PTFE seal.
- This kit is a simple drop-in solution and requires no machining of the transmission case.
Symptoms: - Delayed engagement
- Low line pressure in Drive
- Low line pressure in Neutral
- Low line pressure in Reverse
- No engine braking in manual 2nd
Cause:
Case bore wear and oil loss at the intermediate servo.
Correction:
This drop-in sleeve and piston salvages the case, and eliminates the complaints caused by oil loss.

A burned or complete failure of the direct clutch on the THM 350 transmission can be created by accumulator cross leaks. A drivability complaint of a long slide on the 2-3 shift can result from excessive piston wear. These complaints can be caused by oil cross leakage between the piston and pin in the front accumulator assembly located in the valve body. Excess wear is due to the constant oscillating motion of the the aluminum accumulator piston on the steel pin. The problem occurs when direct clutch oil and intermediate circuits cross leak. In second gear a cross leak may drag the direct clutch and create premature failure. Starter kit 34105-02K contains 10 pins, 10 retaining rings, and 1 reamer.
- The working diameter of the pin is slightly oversized, allowing the bore of the accumulator piston to be modified to restore the hydraulic integrity of the assembly.
- Kit contains an extra retaining clip to assist in holding the accumulator pin in the valve body, which is much less expensive than replacing the accumulator piston and more durable than a bushing.
Symptoms: - 2-3 Slide

- Failed direct clutch
Cause:
Oil cross leakage at a worn accumulator piston bore pin.
Correction:
The oversized accumulator pin allows the piston pin bore to be reamed to restore hydraulic integrity.

The OE boost valve sleeve wears out from the reciprocation of the steel valve within the aluminum sleeve. Wear in the reverse boost sleeve results in low line pressure, soft 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and/or reverse engagement or shudder. Sonnax offers 35754-01K, a high performance boost valve and sleeve replacement. This high performance boost valve and sleeve incorporates a larger boost ratio, which increases line pressure and provides firmer shifts. It is also recommended for street/strip performance vehicles.

TH350 cases are no longer plentiful nor as cheap as they once were. 4L60E cases have many variations throughout the years. Either application requires replacement when the case lugs are worn. You can now save your case and improve on the original design! A74761DAC fits like OE. After installing your 87-UP 4L60 roller clutch and inner race, align outer lugs and set into place. Install the case snap ring. Next, align outer lugs and set the retainer plate in. Install and tighten six allen-head screws to 100-110 inch-pounds. Our A74761DAC utilizes the wide 87-up roller clutch assembly providing more holding power than the early narrow TH350.
