The plastic OE thrust washers in listed converters suffer from high failure rates when subjected to impact-loading. Worn or damaged OE washers can be replaced with Sonnax thrust washer GMFD-WP-1T, which features increased thickness versus OE thrust washer allowing for resurfacing of the front cover.

The plastic OE thrust washers in GM 6T70, 6T75, Ford 6F50, 6F55, Hyundai/Kia A6GF1, Aisin AW TF-80 SC and Aisin AW TF-81SC (AF 21) converters suffer from high failure rates when subjected to impact loading.
