In VW 01M, 01N and 01P transmissions the TCC boost valve wears the inside diameter of the sleeve due to constant valve oscillation. When wear is significant, oil leaks past the valve, preventing it from properly stroking the converter clutch apply valve into the release position, leading to engine stalls and converter overheat. Sonnax offers a replacement valve and sleeve assembly 119940-01K that restores hydraulic integrity to the circuit with tight tolerances and proper material.

Continuous stroking of the TCC apply valve can create excessive valve body wear, and allow converter apply pressure to leak to exhaust. This prevents proper engagement of the torque converter clutch, and can result in loss of TCC apply, engine stall, overheating conditions, or a 1582 code. Sonnax has developed an oversized TCC apply valve that allows the valve body to be refurbished, restoring the hydraulic integrity of the circuit.
- Kit includes an increased ratio TCC boost valve assembly to work with the oversized apply valve. Valve has an identification groove on it. (Do not use the previous OE ratio boost valve.)

The boost regulator valve, which regulates EPC pressure feed to the main regulator valve, is secured in the valve body with a ratcheting end plug. Attempting to turn the end plug in order to tune line pressure will cause the end plug to break. Additionally, the boost regulator valve can cause significant wear to the bore, allowing EPC leakage, which can result in low line pressure, soft shifts and burned clutches. This bore should be inspected for wear on every rebuild. The worn bore may be salvaged using the Sonnax Oversized Boost Regulator Valve 119940-05K for 01M, 01N, 01P units, or 119940-07K for 096, 097 and 098 units. Sonnax offers a replacement ratcheting end plug and an adjustment tool to allow line pressure to be fine-tuned.

Using Sonnax bore sizing tool 119940-BST resizes the bore and gives you the finish and roundness you need to allow the valve to move freely.

- The bolt-on OE oil coolers used in VW/Audi AG4 units are known to contaminate the transmission oil with antifreeze and are impossible to flush thoroughly due to their internal design. Reuse of the OE cooler after rebuild can result in debris contamination and high operating temperatures caused by reduced cooler flow. The Sonnax remote cooler adapter 119814-01K allows the OE oil-to-water (OTW) cooler to be eliminated and replaced with commonly available external oil-to-air (OTA) cooler kits. Kit allows for direct air cooling of ATF. Kit prevents antifreeze from leaking into ATF. Kit includes 3/8 (10mm) hose ID. Adapters swivel 360 before tightening. Anodized aluminum resists corrosion.
