Symptoms: - Broken sleeve
- Engine stall on engagement

Cause:
The cast-aluminum sleeve breaks at the retainer area due to sleeve porosity and the retainer cocking in the bore and exerting excessive force on the thinnest part of the sleeve.
Correction:
The billet aluminum sleeve provides higher tensile strength and reduced porosity to resist breakage.

This kit fits '98-later models: Isuzu NPR, GMC Forward Tiltmaster, Chevrolet Forward, Nissan UD and Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks.
The boost valve assembly is designed to increase line pressure in Drive and Reverse. When the AW 450-43LE sleeve is worn on the inside or loose within the valve body, boost or EPC fluids can leak to exhaust or cross leak and increase forces on the valve. Leakage to exhaust reduces line rise, while the cross leaks can result in broken clutch drums or cases. Sonnax main boost valve and sleeve kit 94987-09K has upgraded materials to prevent wear and restore proper hydraulic control.

Aisin AW 450-43LE transmissions may exhibit multiple shift problems due to excessive wear in the solenoid modulator circuit. Loss of 3rd, 4th gear and no TCC apply are common, along with low line pressure and flare shifts. Bore wear at the inboard end results in high solenoid pressure, improper gear or harsh shifts. Oversized Sonnax solenoid modulator valve kit 94987-14K allows the bore to be renewed, restoring hydraulic integrity for a properly modulated solenoid pressure.
