Sonnax Zip Kit A340-LATE-ZIP targets the root cause of multiple complaints by sealing the critical circuit pressure losses in the Toyota/Lexus A340E/F, Type 3 and 4 valve bodies. The kit contains uniquely designed parts to prevent the loss of pressures within the main line, accumulator, EPC and lockup control circuits. The kit also seals multiple circuits known to suffer from end plug leakage or poor checkball sealing. No special tools are required for installing these parts.
The Zip Kit quick guide provides clear and easy instructions on one sheet to get the unit sealed up and back on the road fast. In addition to general rebuilding tips and technical information, the technical booklet included in this kit contains vacuum testing information and locations at other key areas of the valve body.

For A245E, A246E applications, this part only fits '05-later units with casting code 9132 on the upper valve body.
Excess wear at the lockup relay control sleeve in some Aisin AW and Toyota/Lexus units prevents proper TCC operation and can result in various adverse symptoms. TCC apply and release concerns often develop, coupled with overheated fluid, inadequate lubrication, bushing and solenoid failure, RPM fluctuation, and converter codes. Installing Sonnax lockup relay control valve kit 77741-02K restores critical hydraulic clearances, allowing renewed TCC and lube operation.

In Toyota A340E/F late units the OE steel cutback/EPC and reverse boost valves wear the inside diameters of the cast aluminum boost sleeve due to continuous reciprocation as they provide biasing force to adjust main line pressure. This wear allows critical Reverse, EPC and Cutback fluid pressures to leak or cross leak, creating numerous drivability complaints and part failures.

1984-2000, replaces 3 spool lockup relay valves in units with 3 or fewer solenoids
Some vehicles equipped with an A340 or AW4 series transmission may exhibit complaints of no converter apply, overheated converters, lack of cooler flow and/or transmission fluid overheating. A worn lockup relay valve sleeve due to continuous oscillation of the lockup relay valves can cause these complaints. Wear in the 1st land (see illustration) may cause a loss of Solenoid 3 signal pressure, which may prevent the valve from stroking fully into the TCC apply position. When the TCC is signaled ON, wear at the 2nd and/or 3rd lands may allow converter apply pressure to leak to exhaust, creating reduced apply pressure and cooler flow.
NOTE: This kit works with the 3-solenoid and 3-land lockup relay valve. It does not fit any applications with four or more solenoids.

Replaces 3 spool pressure regulator valve in units with 3 or fewer solenoids
The continuous oscillation of the pressure regulator valve wears the valve body bore. If severe wear occurs at the balance line circuit, the pressure regulator valve won't stroke to reduce line pressure and feed the converter/lube circuits. This can result in high line pressure, harsh shifts, reduced converter pressure and loss of lube. Severe wear at the other pressure regulator valve circuits can allow line pressure to exhaust or go to sump, resulting in low line pressure, soft shifts, and burned clutches and bands. The Sonnax oversized valves 89010-03K,89010-04K and 97855-24K allow the valve body to be refurbished to restore proper clearances. See chart to find which part fits your application.
