We know how hard it is to deal with complaints AFTER the transmission is already back in the car. This is a fine transmission with a good lifespan. Normal wear in control parts causes most malfunctions. Unless you fix this wear while you have the car, you risk a comeback or a no-ship. Replacement Shift Solenoids are available. OE Replacement Control Solenoids are NOT available separately.
Now the good news: Included in this kit, is parts with complete technical information to fix the control solenoids. We also furnished parts for the usual wear items in the valve body. Your care and patience installing this product will make this transmission a real winner! Go for it!

Only some Aisin AW 55-50SN transmissions ('05-later units installed in Nissan and GM vehicles) were equipped with a control spring in the B5 clutch control valve line-up. Using a valve body without a spring in those vehicles creates a mismatch between the B5 line-up and the TCM calibration, often causing a harsh 2-3 upshift or 3-2 downshift.
Sonnax offers B5 control spring 59947-33 as a direct replacement for the OE spring. This allows rebuilders to rebuild any suitable core for use in vehicles where the spring is required, or correct shift concerns caused by a missing spring.

Correction:
The Sonnax oversized solenoid modulator valve made of wear resistant hardcoat anodized aluminum re-establishes proper pressures. Additional support is given to the valve by adding length to the outboard spool.

The shift pressure control valve in Aisin AW 55-50SN units is biased by spring force and shift control (SLS) fluid pressure. This valve regulates Drive and Reverse fluid pressure to control the apply of the second clutch (B2), the second coast clutch (B1) or the direct clutch (C2).
The constant oscillation of the valve wears the cast aluminum sleeve, allowing Drive and Reverse fluid pressure to leak and cause shift complaints and burnt clutches. The drop-in Sonnax shift pressure control valve kit 59947-38K uses upgraded materials and annular grooves on the valve to correct the problem and prevent future wear.

The Aisin AW 55-50SN and 6-speed valve bodies have a solenoid connector which breaks during wire harness removal. Once the bridge lock is broken, the wiring will not remain engaged.
Sonnax solenoid wire connector retainer 59947-60 snaps over the solenoid connection holding the wire terminals in place. The retainer can be installed without removing or rotating the linear solenoids.
