Sonnax Zip Kit 6T70-G2-ZIP targets the root cause of multiple concerns by sealing critical circuit pressure losses in GM Gen. 2 6T70, 6T75 and 6T80 valve bodies. The kit contains uniquely-designed parts to prevent the loss of pressures within the main line, clutch apply control, actuator feed and lockup control circuits. The kit also seals multiple circuits known to suffer from end plug leakage or poor checkball sealing. No separate special tools are required for installing these parts.

Recover hydraulic control, restore normal shift operation and save the transmission control unit by installing Sonnax Zip Kit.

Due to the new vent locations and the amount of bore wear, 6T70 GEN2 valve bodies have leakage issues that can only be corrected by reaming and installing new actuator feed limit (AFL) valves.
There are three FWD 6-speed GEN2 valve bodies that require reaming, so TransGo developed and engineered one universal tool kit for all three units. You will need to purchase separately the #AFL-G2-TK toolkit to repair the actuator feed limit system.

In Ford 6F50/55 and first generation GM 6T70/75 units, AFL/solenoid pressure regulator bore wear results in low pressure at the shift and control solenoid valve assembly. The OE valve has a large reaction area and is highly affected by side loading, which wears the valve body bore. As the bore wear increases, oil pressure is reduced to the shift solenoids, which causes solenoid and ratio codes. This also results in lower line pressure.
Sonnax oversized AFL/solenoid pressure regulator valve 124740-01 is a solenoid feed regulator valve that feeds the control solenoid valve assembly. The valve will restore hydraulic control to the shift solenoids.

Ford 6F50, 6F55 and first-generation GM 6T70, 6T75 units may exhibit no line rise and/or line pressure instability due to a broken isolator valve spring. The isolator valve is in the main line pressure circuit and acts as a damper to smooth pulses from the pressure control solenoid. When this spring breaks, the end plug can shift toward the middle of the valve body, allowing unrestricted exhaust for main line pressure. Spring breakage can also cause isolator valve to jam in the bore, preventing the dampening effect that protects against line pressure instability. Installing Sonnax isolator valve spring 124740-16 restores normal line pressure operation.

Listed GM 6-speed transmissions often set various trouble codes related to failures of fluid pressure switches that are internal to the transmission electro-hydraulic control module (TEHCM). These codes may be accompanied by TCC apply problems or shift irregularities such as slipping, flares, harsh application, and bind-ups. As time goes by, the laminated portions of the pressure switches can breach, preventing normal switch operation. If more than one switch breaks down, failsafe mode can be triggered. Since switches cannot be obtained through OE channels, replacement of the TEHCM was the only previous remedy available.
It is no longer necessary to replace the expensive TEHCM assembly to rectify this concern. Installing Sonnax pressure switch rebuild master pack 124740-28K restores normal switch operation, eliminating codes and providing renewed shift performance in all ranges.

One Tool Kit works with all Ford and GM GEN2 and GEN3 6-speed FWD and 8L45 and 8L90 RWD units
All other 6-speeds will have drop-in components that require no reaming or tooling.
Due to the new vent locations and the amount of bore wear on 2nd generation front wheel drive, six-speed automatic transmissions, Ford and General Motors valve bodies have leakage issues that can only be corrected by reaming and installing new actuator feed limit valves on General Motors units and the solenoid regulator valves on Ford units.
We have designed the easiest, no-hassle solution with the transmission builder in mind. This universal tool kit includes one reamer, with three guides. Each guide has grooves to indicate which transmission it is used for.

This two piece tool is used to install and compress the solid Teflon seals in the 6T70 Transaxle without cutting or nicking the outside sealing edges.
J-46620-3 is a cone shaped protector that keeps the seal inner surface from contacting the sharp edges of the input shaft sealing ring grooves during installation.
Once the solid seals are installed, the J-46620-1 Sizer compresses the seals so the input housing will fit over the seals during reassembly without damaging them.
