Cause:
Continuous oscillation of pressure regulator valve results in excess bore wear, causing erratic line pressure and/or restricting cooler/lube flow. Wear at the boost sleeve induces Reverse issues.
Correction:
Recover hydraulic control and renew line pressure performance by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized pressure regulator and boost valve kit.
Required tool:F-104520-TL7CNOTE: Pump must be removed to install this kit. Use of the VB-06 is required with the VB-FIX reaming fixture for this installation unless the stator support shaft is removed from the pump body.

- Some vehicles with GM 6L45 and 6L50 transmissions may exhibit no engagement when shifted into Forward or Reverse gears. Under these circumstances, it is common that the manual valve has broken into two pieces forcing the car into the Neutral position. Cause:
These complaints can be caused by wear of the end plugs allowing valuable actuator/solenoid feed pressure to leak at the various regulator valves and Reverse and latch pressure to leak at the clutch select valves.
Correction:
This Sonnax O-ringed end plug kit restores correct circuit pressures. The O-ring provides additional sealing to reduce hydraulic losses at critical circuits.

Part No. 104034AThe OE pump bushing in GM 6L50, 6L80 and 6L90 units utilizes a PTFE-impregnated load bearing surface to support large forces and survive dry-start conditions. Replacement bushings are unavailable from GM, so when this bushing eventually wears out, builders have the choice of buying an entire bell housing to get the bushing or settling for aftermarket bushings that can't stand up in this environment. Unfortunately, it is also very common for these units to suffer internal torque converter failures which create debris that ruins this bushing.
Sonnax PTFE-impregnated pump bushing 104034A is a direct replacement OE-style bushing which should be used in these 6L units that contain a worn bushing, or one that has been damaged because of an internal converter failure.

- GM 6L45 and 6L50 transmissions have aluminum bushings installed at the front and rear of the stator shaft. While aluminum bushings generally have good wear characteristics, they are vulnerable during moments of low or no oil flow, such as during startup. The OE aluminum bushings in the stator shaft are prone to premature wear for this reason, resulting in scored bushings, bushing failure, TCC codes and TCC apply and release concerns.
