 This oil filter extension kit 28801-S09K for GM Powerglide units is designed for use with Sonnax oil pan 28801-S. The kit properly positions the oil filter further toward the rear of the pan to ensure fluid is picked up under hard acceleration and to match the wedge shape and depth of the Sonnax pan.

Pressure regulator valve

The OE pressure regulator valve is prone to rusting in the bore of valve body cores, and is often prone to damage during removal. This direct replacement pressure regulator valve allows salvage of these cores. Slight modifications to the size, number and location of the annular grooves provide better hydraulic sealing and prevention of side-loading for this replacement valve.

OE GM Powerglide band adjustment screws can deflect or bend, causing band slippage or even transmission case breakage. Sonnax band adjustment screw kit 28612-01K features an improved screw made from high-strength, hardened alloy steel that won't bend or break at high pressure.

Consistent transbrake release is mandatory for a successful ET racing effort. To improve transbrake release, rebuilders typically replace the OE return springs with stiffer springs, such as the Sonnax reverse clutch return springs 28320A.

These extra-stiff springs can deflect the OE retainer, resulting in a loss of intended load. Sonnax heavy duty reverse clutch spring retainer 28709 is stamped from high-strength, roll-tempered steel. This additional strength resists deflection better than used OE retainers made of mild steel.

For optimum reverse clutch release, use Sonnax reverse springs 28320A with the 28709 retainer.

The Sonnax 10-clutch system increases lockup surface in GM Powerglides for significantly more torque capacity than modified OE drums. The drum kit includes 10 .060" frictions and 10 .060" thick, 12-lug steels, increasing lockup surface to allow significantly more torque than modified OE drums.
